Easter

Easter Egg Hunt at Bishop's annual hunt party

So dedicated to painting the perfect egg
Getting ready to search for the indoor eggs

Bryson had topped off his basket already so he offered to help his little brother.
I figured we should do egg-dying while super-spaz was napping. Turns out Hud wasn't the one we should have worried about. Turbo was way over-excited about dying. Bryson looked like he was having a spat with epilepsy every time he picked up an egg. Not sure what the problem was but he cracked like 8 eggs. And then he spilled the dye everywhere. Next year we'll have to modify the process.

Good Quotes

I found quotes that I thought were great and I figured I'd share some.

"Anyone who thinks the art of conversation is dead ought to tell a child to go to bed."
-Robert Gallagher

(my favorite) "The only thing worth stealing is a kiss from a sleeping child."
-Joe Houldsworth

"The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught, as that every child should be given the wish to learn."
-unknown

"A person soon learns how little he knows when a child begins to ask questions."
-Richard L. Evans

(Mom, this one's for you) "A characteristic of a normal child is that he doesn't act that way very often."
-unknown

"There is n o way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one."
-Jill Churchill

"Parenthood: That state of being better chaperoned than you were before marriage."
-Marcelene Cox

"The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity."
-Dorothy Parker

"If evolution really works, how come mothers only have two hands?"
-Milton Berle

Buckle UP!!!

My children will be featured in the "Wildest Richest Rodeo in the West" this summer. We signed Brynn and Bryson both up for the Mutton Bustin' this time around and have been practicing frequently with their father being the animal.  Bryson will go during the Friday night session (June 26) and Brynn (because the coordinator loved her super cute name) will go during the final round on Saturday June 27th.  Last year Bryson was seen on the news and we missed it. So I will set up my DVR just in case they both win and get to be on TV.

one fine day

Tonka was in some serious need of a brushing. After cleaning him up we took the kids on a bike ride down by the river again. One of the best things about Reno is that within a few miles of our homes there are dozens of parks and trails for our leisure.

An hour past nap time. Can you tell?

Glamma!!!

One day when Bryson was at school and Hud was down Brynn came up to me and said: "Mom! What the heck are we gonna do today? {pause} OH!!! Do you wanna do a makeover on me?!?!"

Ummm, Heck yeah, I do. Duh!

She kept saying "How much more makeup can I have? How much?" Daddy wants me to do her hair like this all the time.

Movin' on up

This year we moved Bryson up from T-ball to FARM. They have players from 6-9 years, use a pitching machine that pitches up to 60 mph., and the boys have to wear cups!!!  At first Bryson hated it but now after games he doesn't want to take it off. I think he feels really big wearing it. Tanner is coach again and they have a lot of the team from last year.

Can you tell its only about 25 degrees?

What I've been up to

At the beginning of March I had nothing to do. I mean nothing (aside from the normal duties of motherhood). It just about killed me. I hate not having projects and things to do which make feel somewhat productive during the day. So I had to hunt down some new (and now fave) little projects. And I'm bringing out the inner-seamstress in me. Or trying to.

Bryson loves his new shirts and will only wear these 5
Brynnie got to go on another date with Daddy and I made her this pink shirt
...and this cherry dress

I ran out of jam so I had to make more from my frozen strawberries. With the leftovers I made fruit roll-ups in my new dehydrator.

With Debi's AWESOME new bread recipe I've been baking all our own bread and rolls and cinnamon rolls. Killer!
And we're potty training again.

This kid is so dang cute! I love seeing him in his little "unnies".
