Look closely folks--that's his thumb AND his big toe he's sucking on.

I don't even bother with socks anymore because they are soaked all day.

Hudson has a silky, then we have fuzzies, but do any of your kids have "soakies"?

Footed jammies are a pain too. He has a thing for sucking on material.

He likes to wrap his thumb around his shirt and then suck on it.

But don't get any funny ideas about giving him a pacifier.

It just aint gonna happen.

Hallelujah!!!

This poor little girl has been waiting to lose a tooth "FOREVER"!!!

Almost on a daily basis I hear that she's never gonna lose a tooth and she's "the only one in [her] entire class, probably even all of first grade, that hasn't lost a tooth yet!"

Well not any more Sister! Tanner had to work it a little at first--which did not go over well-- but in the end she let me pull it out with floss. Tanner recorded it with his phone and she had fun watching it over and over. And then she had to re-tell it over and over (like we had all missed it or something:) And then we talked it about all night . . . again. And then she was too excited about what the tooth fairy was gonna bring her, "maybe like a cute bracelet, or like some earrings, or something like that . . ." And then . . . . . well, you get the picture. She's super duper stoked about it.

Fortunately I remembered my camera plugged in at the computer, which reminded me to upload these pictures . . . which reminded me the tooth fairy better git in her room pronto.

Otherwise I would've forgotten and there would have been a scene in the mornin' !!!

Colllddd

The other morning we woke up and there was so much frost on the ground it looked like it had snowed. When I walked outside everything on the ground was completely frozen! Didn't even bend when you stepped on it. It made for some cool shots, I just wish we had some prettier plants to take pictures of.

the most SCRUMPTIOUS little baby EVER!!!!

We did this with Huddy too (made him our center-piece) until he was able to reach his arms out and swipe everything off the table. I think these little babies like being right in the middle of the whole family.

Graduating

Our baby boy has graduated from the glider to the bouncer. He weighs it down pretty far so his little tree trunks can tough the ground. He hasn't started "bouncing" but he does rock back and forth.

He can now grab at objects in front of him--like my glasses, my earrings, my plate of food . . .

He's watching us closely when we eat now and he puts everything in his mouth still.

Someone told me when he was born that they have growth spurts on even weeks until they are 2 months and thereafter its even months. Maybe its the power of suggestion but I have totally noticed that this time around. The whole last month he rarely napped and wouldn't fall asleep much before midnight. Since last Sunday when he turned 4 months he has been one sleepy little guy. A couple long naps during the day and usually asleep by 10 at night. I could get used to that schedule.

Sketty continues to ever graduate in the esteem of his big brother. Hudson can hardly last more than 5 min without having to get his baby-love. I hope these two always love each other as much as they do now.

My little big man turns 8

Bryson turned 8 this past week and I can hardly believe it. I remember when we blessed at 6 weeks old and thought that eight years from then was forever! How quickly it has gone by. He is SUPER excited to be baptized this weekend and he gets to start Cub Scouts tomorrow. We were at a "It's Great to be Eight" primary meeting last night and the Den Mom got up to talk about what they do in Scouts and the different belt loops they can earn. B leaned over and says "IIII am gonna have sooooo much fun!" Yes you are buddy.

I took him down to the temple last weekend to take some pics for his Baptism Announcements and this is one of my favorites. He was a trooper because it was FREEZING!

We had Aunt Em engrave his name on his new scriptures a few months ago and we've been waiting to give them to him because he's been asking for his own scriptures forever.

So for anyone around here who wants to come to his baptism:

Funny Faces

My little baby love is 4 months old already.

He weighs 18 lbs and gaining by the minute.

He can now roll over both ways and can do pretty good crunchies,

which means he's no longer safe in the corner of the couch.

His latest tricks are his funny faces.

Here's his pucker. Pretty darn kissable if you ask me.

His glued-lips smile. Usually accompanied by both feet pointed and legs outstretched

Blowing bubbles face. He has more saliva than he knows how to handle and

he's always blowing spit bubbles.

I wish I could record all the noises that accompany these faces too. They are also pretty cute.

This is probably the most frequent face we see. Hand-stuffed-in-mouth face.

Poor baby can never get his mouth to smile as big as he wants, but he sure tries hard.

This is actually more like his normal face. We see this happy grin most often.

When he sleeps he sleeps hard.

Still the best baby ever.

Christmas Day

This is Bryson having a total cow because I was in bed nursing the baby and he was tired of waiting. Let it be known that we actually had to wake up the kids at 8. Tanner probably should have waited till I was done at least but it was no more than 5 min. MAX. Christmas Eve was a rough night for Brynn (she gets really bad leg cramps ALL. THE. TIME.) and consequently for me and Tanner as well. It was not a good start to the "happiest day of the year".

They are only about 9 days apart and they both started off big, but Rhodes seems to have some super-human growth gene. He's huge compared to my Sketty-boy, but you can't tell as much in these pics.

Merry Christmas

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve we went to Tanner's parents' house for dinner and games. His aunt and uncle (Mike and Nancy) were down from Spokane and their daughters were here as well. Scott and Sueanne were in charge of games.

You had to balance a yardstick on top of a cardboard roll and then hand 5 ornaments from each side.

This was another game where you had to fan the ball down to the other side of the room

I try and tell Hud all the time "He doesn't really like it when you hold him like that". He still doesn't believe me. But he loves when I hold him.

For this one the kids had a kleenex box tied to their bums and filled with bells. They had to jump up and down and get all the bells out.

The cousins all exchanged gifts with each other and the boys pretty much all got boy stuff

Laying in bed while I read Night Before Christmas to them. And the tree before the mayhem
