Sweet Sketty - 6 months

This is about 3 weeks late since he's almost 7 months, but here's the highlights of our angel baby this month.

* Up on hands and knees, rocking back and forth
* The Half-Sit (perching on one hip and supporting self with arm)
* Army Crawling - we call him the Inchworm because he does a modified Army Crawl. If you've ever seen Cinderella picture the black cat Lucifer when he gets stuck in the dress sleeve and he's trying to catch Gus Gus. That's what Sketty looks like.
*He can sit on my hip now, but that doesn't seem to help my back pain from totin' him around all day.

His footprints at birth and 6 months. His feet are huge. And fat. And always sweaty.
He loves his mama. If I set him down and walk away he gets a little sad. If someone's holding him and I walk by without rescuing him he gets a little sad. If I sit on the couch and snuggle him all the time (which I do) he's perfectly happy. I don't mind at all because I know pretty soon he'll be super independent and won't really want me to hold him all the time. And besides, it makes me feel special that I'm still his favorite.
He likes to follow me into the kitchen while I'm cooking or cleaning.
Touched grass for the first time - didn't like it.

Loves to be naked, still. He is getting tricky when it comes to diaper changes too. As soon as you take off the diaper his hands are everywhere down there. He flips all over the place and kicks his legs everywhere. Naked time is his favorite time. I just love those little squishy buns. The kids always have to come squeeze his "bunny cheeks" when he's rolling around naked.

Hud is a great helper ^;^ Always drags the baby away from "danger" (or sometimes just because). Thanks Huddy.

Stetson weighed 20 lbs at 6 months. And although I don't know how long he is I do know he's more than half the length of Brynn. It looks like she's trying to hold a baby elephant when she totes him around.

He just started "talking", saying "Da Da Da" all day long. Now he's doing these short, high-pitched screeches. He loves to hear himself. I had to leave RS at church on Sunday cuz he was way too loud for class.

He's noisy when he's awake but recently he's started snoring while he's sleeping. It sounds like he's gonna blow the roof off. I had him asleep in his carseat in the store the other day and these two old ladies kept saying "What is that noise?" Hudson kept giggling because they didn't know it was coming from our baby.

I'll tell you what he's not doing:

not sleeping through the night (ever since he cut his bottom teeth he's been waking up to nurse at least once a night. I really want my good sleeper back.)

not napping ( my big plan when Tanner went back to work was to get this kid on a good napping schedule and so far we have not achieved that goal)

not eating anything (that one post about him loving baby food - that was a lie. I've only managed to feed him a total of two jars worth of carrots over the last 2 months. He has hated every flavor I've tried. He will suck on a salted pretzel stick like there's no tomorrow though.)

not really laughing yet (he'll give you a courtesy chuckle all day long but he's only done a big belly laugh once, and it was for Grandma.)

Best Pledge

The Pledge of Allegiance
(From a Four-Year Old)

I pwedge aweeshuns to the fwag
Of the United States of the Merica
And to the wespubik
For witches stand
One nation, under God
indibizibul
Wiff wiberty and dustin for All.

Every week at Scouts we say the Pledge and when Hudson was with me one time he ran up to me and said "Hey, I know this!" Apparently Miss Cindy has taught them the Pledge of Allegiance at Preschool.

Question of the Day

"Is today Tomorrow?"

Um, How do I answer this?
Let it be known I get asked this question on a weekly basis.

Yet another reason why . . .

. . . we need separate beds. Don't want our little Huddy suffocated to death.

All I can say is . . . . . . Bryson's poor future wife!

Actually it goes both ways. Hudson is usually all over the place too. When he climbs in bed with you he'll stick his cold feet down your pants and dig his knees into your back.

And he sleeps sideways . . .

and upside down . . .

and half the time ends up in a pile on the ground next to the bed.

Super Soaker Spit Bubbles

Sketty's new trick

He likes to make these silly spit bubble faces all day long. I wish I could video him so you could all hear the sounds he makes while spitting. He's so funny. He's also kinda like a little spider. You know how spiders always leave a trail of web wherever they go? That's my little Sketty. He always leaves a trail of drool wherever he is. The kids are always squealing about getting slimed by him. But we love our little slime-ball.

Toofs

I thought this little guy had an ear infection (tugging on his ear, not sleeping, didn't want to be put down). And then out popped these two little white buds on his bottom gums. This is 4 months earlier than the other 3 kids.

Hudson was smothering him and he said "Oh Mom! Sketty has two little toofs down there!"

Isn't that the cutest little mug?

Brynn lost her second tooth finally. Unfortunately the new one is/was already coming up and it is NOT where it should be. Hopefully her two permanent teeth will go through some magical transformation and end up in the right spot. Bryson's were coming in pretty jacked up and now they're perfectly straight on bottom. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

I have had a cracked tooth since before the baby was born. I was hoping it would hold up for another 30 days till we get our dental insurance (woo-hoo) but it did not. Last night I went in to floss and the corner of my tooth fell off. Hud was so excited. He ran and got the tooth fairy pillow and said "Oh good job Mom! Now the tooth fairy's gonna give you some dollars!" He was pretty stoked for me. Wish I was that happy about it.

Hungry Boy

I have been trying to get this boy to eat for about a month now and every time I whip out the baby cereal he starts bawling and gagging and throwing a fit. So I tried some baby food the other day and it was quite a different story.

See how he's holding my hand? He couldn't get it fast enough.

So yummy.
