Projects

A couple weeks ago I finally started working on all the projects I've been putting off for the last 9 months.

This is my front door wreath - that I luvvvv - made with purple, green, and peacock-ish feathers

I finally finished Brynn's room. I had made her a new duvet shortly after we moved because someone was kind enough to take a permanent marker to her previous one. Then the retard dog ate a hole right in the middle of her new one and I couldn't get the same material to fix it, hence the two-tone black and white.

These high windows let in an insane amount of light and heat so I had to double up the material and made faux-Roman shades.

I made her green and turquoise pillows but bought the orange and pink ones.

I love the yo-yo lamp. I've been trying to think of something cute to do to her lamp for months now and I'm glad I decided on the yo-yo's. I highly recommend getting the little plastic yo-yo template (at JoAnn's or Michaels) because it made it so much easier. Brynn even made a couple and she loved it.

After we found out baby was a boy and not a girl I had to hunt for a diaper bag. I have not yet been able to find one that I like so I made this one using the pattern from Amy Butler's Little Stitches for Little One's. It was intense. But I'm happy with it and I can probably say I would make one again. The bag is ginormous though. You can fit a few small children in it.

Now I'm just gonna sit here and do nothing while my biggest project finishes itself. Hopefully my latest "original Kim" will realize there's no more room left and its time to come out now.

Daddy's Girl

This absolutely made her day. She ran into the house screaming for me to come see what dad had done. He can do no wrong in her eyes. She loves just about everything he says or does.

If I go in and wake her up by playing with her hair and rubbing her back she gets all grumpy. Tanner goes and jumps on her and starts throwing her all over the place and she's laughing hysterically.

She wanted to know the name of his cologne last week because she "love[s] is soooo much" and she wants her boyfriend to wear it when she's older. Right now I don't think she could find anyone to compare to him.

(notice the spelling: I love TANNRE)

Hurry Up and Wait

I spent 8 hours cleaning my house on Monday (and then I almost died)
Tuesday we had our carpets cleaned (one of my most favorite things. EVER.)
Yesterday I had a pedicure
Today I got my hair done
The laundry is washed and folded and put away
My fridge is stocked and meals are on the menu
The car is clean, the gas tank is mostly full, and the carseat is in
My kids got off to school okay and I got all my projects done

Please come early baby.
I really don't want to do this all over again next week.

1st Day of School

Next time I'm taking the first day of school pictures.

Bryson and Spencer

Brynn and Kayla

2nd Grade - Mrs. Klotz's class
1st Grade - Mrs. Fritts' class

This was a suuuuper early morning for everyone. We woke up at 6:45 (which NO ONE in my family EVER does) to give Brynn plenty of time to get going - she also needs a good 45-60 min before she can eat breakfast usually. I had spent a good deal of time the night before putting her hair in ringlets only to have her HATE them in the morning. Then she hated her outfit. She was laying on her bed having a meltdown and I asked if she was just super tired. "YES! Because its so FREAKIN' early!!! It's like 4 o'clock in the morning!" Well, actually it was like 7:30 by then but still hours earlier than she would have been up normally.

Bryson didn't have any problems. He likes his teacher and he's in a 1st-2nd combo. I was told these kids were specifically chosen for their ability to work independently and for their leadership skills. He already has his 1st grade buddy that he's assigned to and he really likes him. In both Kindergarten and 1st grade in Reno he was buddied up with an autistic student and he was really good with them. So I hope this year will be great for him. This was the first time he allowed Tanner to give him a Father's Blessing and I think he feels a lot better about school now.

Huddy tells everyone he has to wait till our baby gets here before he can go to school. Preschool for him starts after Labor Day and he can't wait. I usually have to make him a lunch and put it in his backpack when we go places so he feels like the big kids. He will lovvvvve preschool. And then hopefully we won't have to hear about how he has no one to play with all day long.

Dillon's Beach

A couple weeks ago it was hotter than heck so we all headed to the coast where it was nice and cold. I don't think it got above 65 the whole weekend. But all the cousins had a blast with each other and it was very relaxing.
At High Tide we had to climb up and over the rocks

Fred has to run everywhere but the second you want him to walk, say back to the car, his "wegs are killing" him

This was a couple weeks ago and I feel way bigger these days

Last time we were here Brynn was not very big

All the big kids

All the big boys

Getting a story at night. I prefer trailer camping but tent camping is fun every once in a while

It was sooo cold at night we woke up with a few extras in our bed
Sleeping on an air mattress in the cold, getting up at 2:30 am to chew out the group of WT that parked next to us, and having to use a port-a-potty a million times a night is now at the top of my "Things-I-don't-ever-need-to-do-while-pregnant" list.

We collected all kinds of jellyfish tops down at the beach on day

The girls all gave each other awesome makeovers

Look how young they all were last time

Brynn-2

These boys found some pocket knives and sticks. Need I say more? Boys are great like that.
